Meet Michael Beecher - November 2024 Volunteer Spotlight

What is your background?
I am a retired CPA. I have been a regular big dog walker since January 2021. Somewhere along the way, I joined the Board of Directors at Living Grace Canine Ranch where I currently serve as Treasurer. My wife and I love dogs and have had many over the years.
What brought you to Living Grace Canine Ranch?
Having just retired and moved to Georgetown, in December 2020 I saw an article in the
Georgetown Sun about LGCR and Rhonda. I went out to the Ranch when they just opened
Gracie’s Small Dog Bunkhouse and met Rhonda and heard her mission for LGCR. I came home
and told my wife, Lana, “You are not going to believe this!” We have been hooked ever since, making it
four years in December.
What is special about Living Grace Canine Ranch?
LGCR’s mission is straight to the heart: provide a loving home and care for society’s discarded
old dogs for the rest of their lives. The analogy of the Ranch residents to what many senior
citizens go through, could not be more remarkable. What is truly special about LGCR, is our attitude of our volunteers. I have witnessed so many unselfish acts of love and kindness by our volunteers that it is easy to lose sight of how special a place LGCR is. Our volunteers do so
without desire for recognition either. It is so nice that everyone pulls together to provide care
for our senior dogs, which is such a rarity with today’s rampant societal and political discourse. No one cares about your political affiliation, everyone is happy pitching in and doing their part. I am very proud of this organization.
