As a senior rescue and proud large-breed lady, Gidget reminds us that companionship comes in all sizes and stages. Her calm strength and sweet sass are a testament to the incredible bond we share with dogs who’ve walked a few more miles and worn a few more stories on their paws.

As a new volunteer, almost two years ago, I remember Gidget leaving a sweet, and yes sassy, impression upon me. I transported her to the Vet the evening before her leg surgery. I could tell she was anxious and not wanting to be there. I wrapped my arms around her neck and reassured her. Her amber eyes said it all. I had a hard time leaving her that evening, but was so very happy to see her back at the ranch to heal and get back to being Gidget.
