Safety Compliance Notice
LGCR Community of Volunteers:
Renovations of both bunkhouses are now complete, and Ranch operations will be entering a new phase of oversight and compliance. Our volunteers are invaluable assets, providing crucial support to the staff and showing unwavering care for the Ranch residents. Cooperation among volunteers and adherence to the implemented safety policies are essential for smooth operations and to ensure the Ranch remains a safe environment for both volunteers and residents. Unfortunately, there continues to be lapses in compliance and instances of disrespect towards staff members who are enforcing these policies as mandated by Rhonda.
Effective June 1, the following protocols will be implemented upon observing any volunteer who does not follow safety procedures (safety procedures are posted in the volunteer room or if you’re unsure ask a Ranch Boss)
:
· First Occurrence: The volunteer will receive a verbal reminder from the Ranch Boss on Duty, or alternatively, from the Volunteer Liaison to the Board of Directors, or the Volunteer Training Director, regarding the correct procedure.
· Second Occurrence: The volunteer will need to repeat the Ranch 1:1 training with the Volunteer Training Director.
·Third Occurrence: The volunteer will be asked to refrain from volunteering. Rhonda will decide if a probationary period is necessary (depending on the infraction) or if a total ban from the Ranch is appropriate.
There will be a ZERO TOLERANCE policy against any form of physical discipline, including hitting or slapping, towards Ranch residents. Anyone found engaging in such an action will be asked to leave the premises immediately and not permitted to return.
Lastly, please remember to treat each other with kindness. We are united by our mutual desire to care for and cherish these senior lives entrusted to us. Remember, the Ranch is named “Living Grace”. May we embody this principle in our interactions with one another.
