Overstretched Rubber Band

A torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in dogs is a common injury that affects mobility and quality of life. The ACL connects the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone) in a dog's knee.

Symptoms: A dog with a torn ACL may show signs such as limping, favoring one leg, difficulty rising, or struggling to jump into the car. Furthermore, they might sit with their legs extended to the side instead of in a "square" position.

Gidget’s ruptured ACL will be surgically repaired this Thursday, and her recovery will be further supported by extensive physical therapy performed at the LGCR wellness clinic.

By Christmas morning, our therapy goal is for Gidget to self-select her Santa surprise under the tree.
