Remembering Mama
Forty-four residents live in the Living Grace Canine Ranch Gracie Bunkhouse, yet it seems oddly empty since Mama's passing. We all share in this profound loss, feeling the void left by Mama's absence. Mama's life was a personal journey and a shared experience that spoke to pets' emotional fragility.
In 2020, Mama's life took a significant turn as she began her Sanctuary Sweetheart residency. Her residency defined her legacy and left an indelible mark on our community after she had been breeding Tree Walker Coonhounds for twelve years.
Mama's resilience, living four years beyond the breed's life expectancy, was a true inspiration. Her ability to experience the thrill of spontaneity and joy, even in the face of severe emotional challenges, is a lesson that continues to motivate and uplift us all.
We all share a deeper connection and compassion for dogs with maladaptive coping behaviors, a bond Mama helped us forge. Her caregiving lessons have strengthened our desire to impart a dog's need to feel valued, safe, and loved. Someday, we'll run together on the other side, still bound by these shared values.

Sorry to hear of her passing. I am glad I got to walk her when I was there.
