Remembering Duke

The biting north wind swept through the landscape, dramatically dropping air pressure and underscoring the fragile state of senior dogs battling heart disease. When Duke first arrived in 2023, the scars on his body and his wary demeanor around other dogs hinted at a past filled with hardship and pain. Yet, within the walls of his new home, Duke revealed his true character—a gentle soul with an earnest yearning for a heartfelt connection with the humans around him.

Duke became known as the affectionate boy, generously showering everyone with soft kisses that spoke volumes of his kindness. As we remember him, we envision serene afternoons spent lounging under the shade of a sprawling tree, sharing loving glances that transcended words, and celebrating the bond we formed with this remarkable resident.

Sweet boy, Duke. I'm so glad he found his last home full of love at the Ranch
