At eleven years old, Velma moves through the world with the calm awareness that often comes with time. She is observant, thoughtful, and quietly confident in her navigation of the rhythms of ranch life. Her favorite moments are simple ones — a warm patch of sunlight, the sound of familiar voices nearby, and the reassuring presence of caregivers who understand the needs of aging companions.
