Wait- My Vet Says, "I'm not ready"

Our mission offers second-chance senior dogs the opportunity to experience a joy-filled life regardless of medical, physical, and behavioral challenges. Most LGCR residents are permanently home at the sanctuary; approximately one-third live with Forever Fosters, and for a few, they discover a forever family.

Shelter euthanasia statistics are easily obtainable and garner animal welfare attention, such as sixty-four percent of senior dogs will not survive a Texas shelter experience. However, economic and convenience veterinarian requested euthanasia stays under the radar.

Over the past three years, veterinarian requests for senior dog sanctuary residency across Texas are rising with a one hundred percent admittance. When integrity is the bond between the private and nonprofit sectors, fairy tales are no longer figments of imagination.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28
