Named after George Burns and Ethel Merman, their mom lavished them with purebred Miniature Poodle love and caregiving until they became orphans. As a side note, during a resident check-in interview with the couple of seventeen years, George admitted (but didn't regret) having a brief affair with ‘Grace Kelly’ in his breeding prime.
Regarding health and caregiving, Ethel is blind and near deaf with progressing dementia. Despite George's heart condition, he bounces along, enjoying life. Many senior dogs with Canine Cognitive Dysfunction experience disorientation during night hours, often becoming a behavioral issue for pet parents. No longer considered a family burden, Ethel and George have a new family for comforting, caregiving, and creating joyful memories twenty-four hours a day.
We invite you to experience George and Ethel's beautiful love story each month as they journey through life together. To become their RanchAngel, select George and Ethel from the Sanctuary Sweetheart list.
