Khalesie Recovery

Intra-abdominal adhesions (IAAs) are common after major abdominal surgery in dogs and humans. They can develop shortly after the procedure, with symptoms lasting months or years. If a dog shows signs of an intestinal blockage post-surgery, veterinarians may consider IAAs a possible cause.

In Khalesie's case, we anticipated some post-operative weight loss following the surgical removal of three large benign abdominal masses. However, we were surprised to observe a significant loss of ten pounds in muscle mass during the first two weeks. Despite having a good appetite, Khalesie experienced difficulties with regurgitation. To address this issue, we transitioned her to a plan of eight mini meals high in calories but low in fiber. We are pleased to report that Khalesie has started gaining weight and is now enjoying moderate sessions of strength training exercises.

Khloe Fainting Spells

Syncope, or fainting, is a temporary loss of consciousness caused by inadequate oxygen supply to the brain, often due to disrupted blood circulation.

ย

A canine syncope episode begins with signs of weakness or wobbliness. Unlike seizures, syncope involves brief periods of limpness and unresponsiveness, lasting seconds to a minute, without confusion or muscle convulsions.

ย

Treatment for syncope depends on its underlying cause, which can include heart disease, low blood pressure, or medications. The prognosis for dogs with syncope varies based on the root cause.
